Personal Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Site, we may automatically collect information about you and/or your device, such as IP address, device type, browser type, browsing data, including the content you view and the third-party websites that referred you to the Site, and other information. We use cookies and other technologies to collect this information. Cookies are small files stored on your web browser when you visit our website. Some cookies last only as long as you remain on the website; others, called “persistent cookies” may be stored for longer periods of time. These cookies can make browsing easier by storing your password or your preferences regarding how you use the Site. Cookies collect information such as the IP address of your computer, your browser settings, and information about how you use the Site. Your general location may be estimated from your IP address. Some cookies track users’ activity on our website, apps, and services in order to deliver personalized advertising to you on this and other websites.
Information we collect with these tools includes:
- Browser and device data: We collect your device type, operating system and version, IP address, general geographic location as indicated by your IP address, browser type, screen resolution, device manufacturer and model, language, plug‐ins, add‐ons and the language version of the website you are visiting.
- Usage data: We collect information about the time you spend on the websites, the content you view and features you access, the pages that led or referred you to our websites, language preferences, how you interact with available content, and entered search terms.
When you visit the Site, D’Amelio Footwear and our partners collect information about your online activities over time and across websites, including our different product “microsites,” to provide you with advertising about products and services tailored to your individual interests (called “interest‐based advertising”). For example, we utilize certain of our partners’ targeted advertising services to show you our advertisements on other websites based on your prior visits to our websites and other online activity. Our partners may place or recognize a unique cookie or other tracking technology on your browser (including the use of pixel tags). Where required by applicable laws, we will rely on your consent prior to processing Personal Information from your device or computer for the purpose of interest‐based advertising.
We use Google Analytics to help analyze how users use our websites. If you would like to opt-out from the use of your information by Google Analytics, you may use Google’s analytics opt-out browser add-on designed for this purpose.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but, if you prefer, you can usually modify your browser setting to disable or reject cookies. If you delete your cookies or if you set your browser to decline cookies, some features of the services may not be available, work, or work as designed.
Targeted Advertising
We may collect information about your online activities on the Site to provide you with advertising about products and services tailored to your individual interests. We also may obtain information for this purpose from third-party websites on which our ads are served.
You may see certain ads on other websites because we work with advertising partners (including advertising networks) to engage in remarketing and retargeting activities. Our partners track your online activities over time and across websites, including the Site, by collecting information through automated means, including through the use of third-party cookies, web server logs and web beacons. They use this information to show you advertisements that may be tailored to your individual interests. The information our advertising partners may collect includes data about your visits to websites that participate in the relevant advertising networks, such as the pages or advertisements you view and the actions you take on the websites. This data collection takes place both on the Site and on third-party websites that participate in the ad networks. This process also helps us track the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. For example, we utilize certain of our ad partners’ targeted advertising services to show you our ads on other websites based on your prior visits to the Site and other online activity.
Provided that a company participates in industry-developed programs designed to provide consumers choices about whether to receive targeted advertising, you may opt out of ad network interest-based advertising generally through the Network Advertising Initiative website or by visiting http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ (web-based advertising) or http://www.aboutads.info/appchoices (for mobile advertising).
For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.
Please note that opting out does not mean that you will stop receiving ads from us. It means that you still stop receiving ads from us that have been targeted to you based on your visits and browsing activity across websites over time.
